An version of the Asus Eee PC with 8GB of flash memory from the factory is coming, but you’ll have to wait a little bit longer to get your hands on one.
Apparently Asus is having “minor hardware issues” related to the flash memory. As a result, it is not expected to ship until the second quarter of this year.
Asus had been on track to ship 1 million Eee PC’s this quarter, but that figure included the some of the 8GB units. With the delay, Asus was forced to lower their shipment forecast to 700k.
