
A week ahead of PMA, Canon has unveiled their replacement to last years Rebel XTi–the new Canon Rebel XSi 450D.
The specs are:
- 12.2 megapixel APS-C CMOS (1.6x focal conversion)
- 3-inch live view LCD (up from the XTi’s non-live-view 2.5-inch)
- Larger viewfinder than XTi
- DIGIC III image processor
- 9-point AF, 3.5fps shot rate (up to 53 images in JPEG, 6 in RAW)
- The usual ultrasonic sensor cleaning
- SD / SDHC media
- Spot metering
- Redesigned menus
- Slightly redesigned info display
- Multi-shot self-timer mode
- Highlight Tone Priority (from 40D)
- Auto Lighting Optimiser (boosts shadows after shooting)
- Redesigned battery grip
- New, larger, higher capacity battery
- ISO setting displays in viewfinder and ISO button
- Ships April, $799 and $899 for body-only / included EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens, respectively
UPDATE: When this was initially posted there wasn’t a picture of the 450D available, but now there is so I’ve swapped out the image in this post with a picture of the actual 450D.
